In 1999, INOX Leisure was being incorporated, and it is also a part of a $ 2 billion Inox group and a subsidiary of the Gujarat Fluorochemicals. It is also engaged in providing a quality cinema exhibition. Its multiplexes also offer an option of 2–5 auditoriums and such auditoriums have state of the art facilities, along with interiors that equate to the international standards, modern projection and systems, and the computerized ticketing. It also exhibits movies of many languages such as English, Hindi, and other regional languages.
Approximately all the INOX cinemas have state of the art facilities in terms of acoustic systems and modern projection, and the interiors of international standards, and the stadium styled high back seating, along with cup holder arm-rests, high levels of hygiene, different theatre food, a selection of English, Hindi, and any other regional movies, online booking system, and the most vital high service standards that are managed by a young and vibrant team.
It also completed the acquisition of a majority stake in the Emerging Equity in Fame India, and along with this, Inox’s stake in Fame currently stands at 50.27% of the issued and paid capital of the Fame. So, this made Fame as its subsidiary. In February 2010, Inox had earlier, acquired about 1,75,65,288 equity shares of Fame India.
The Company was also engaged in the film distribution such as Rang De Basanti, Cheeni Kum, Heyy Baby, Om Shanti Om, Namastey London, Race, U Me Aur Hum, and Partner.
The Company has also set up windmills in Gujarat to generate renewable electricity for its consumption.
Also, it has an alliance with Pantaloon Group, and this provided access to all real estate development that Pantaloon takes up for its retail chain giving Inox to explore untapped potential.
